![]() ![]() I have to suppose that the glass broke on impact, but the break was invisible because the pieces fit perfectly, there was no film of air having diffferent refractive index from the glass to refract light and disclose the separation. The followign Spring, got in, and saw the big star in the windshield, centered exactly where the impact had occurred. Used the van all Summer, parked it next Winter. But after I recovered form the shock, I saw NOT A TRACE of damage. My instant expectation was the windshield in my lap. Several years ago driving my van on icy late Winter day, something big fell from above and smacked HARD into windshield. ![]() ![]() Not likely anything will usefully bond to wet dirty substrate.Ī vaguely related story. But the cracks no doubt have water in them, and dirt, too, if they look black. One can happily imagine a low-viscosity resin that would wick into the cracks and cure there. ![]()
